Technology developed and applied...
The A&M© aerator/mixers are a patented dual purpose design for the treatment of large volumes of industrial waste water. Available in 3 sizes for working depths from 2 to 6 metres, units can be installed along one wall or in grid pattern across the tank floor.
One major advantage of the design is that the A&M aerator/mixers can be fitted on to lift-out frames, simplifying inspection and maintenance procedures.
Each unit has a single port for an air supply and the very strong suction generated by the passage of air draws up sediments and reduces the formation of sludge at the bottom of tanks.
As the air passes through the aerator/mixer, the internal fins cause the passing air to be sheared into a range of bubble sizes, ranging from fine bubbles (microbubbles) at circa 30µm upwards to large millimetre sized bubbles, all carrying oxygen for the treatment of wastes.
The powerful stream of mixed bubble sizes coming from the top of the aerator/mixer causes turbulence and provides good mixing which, allied to the strong suction, ensures wastes in tanks are efficiently circulated.
The mixture of bubble sizes coming from the top of the aerator/mixer ensures that there are different degrees of bubble buoyancy, which contributes to turbulence and mixing and ensures that bubble collapse takes place at a number of levels, not just below the surface.
The combination of effective shearing of air into a mixture of bubble sizes and a powerful stream directed upwards towards the top of the tank, ensures the whole tank can be mixed avoiding localised pockets of unmixed wastes.
The force of the upward stream of waste water and air presses the aerator/mixer downwards, simplifying installation on lift-out frames and eliminates the need for tank floor fixtures.
